USG People and Textkernel nominated for Recruitment Tech Award 2016 21 October 2016 • Categories: Awards, Clients, News
Together with Textkernel, USG People looked for a way to set up their databases more effectively in order to link candidates to jobs better, faster and more efficiently.
With this case USG People and Textkernel have been nominated for the Recruitment Tech Award 2016. Please cast your vote for USG People and Textkernel.
The case: one central, easily searchable database
USG People receives 50,000 applications per month, which were all stored in the separate databases of the different brands. Only 10% could be placed on a job since their consultants could not leverage their internal talent pools. Therefore recruiters made use of (paid) external databases to search for candidates.
It appeared that 30% of the candidates applied to more than just one brand within USG People. In order to be more efficient and make more and better matches, USG People decided to create one central database accessible to the recruiters from all operating companies. To accomplish this, USG People implemented Textkernel’s CV parsing tool Extract! and its semantic search technology Search!.
‘Sharing the data between subsidiary companies is a true revolution. However people were a bit frightened in the beginning to share their data, this fear appeared to be unfounded.’
The result: a more efficient workflow, more matches and cost reduction
Every recruiter within USG People now has access to the user-friendly and easily searchable database. In the beginning there were hesitations to share the data between brands, but this turned out to be a big success. Recruiters now have access to more candidates and better search options.
- The fill rate on vacancies increased by 1,5%;
- Annual cost reduction on the use of external databases of more than half a million euro;
- Cross-label matches: candidates that applied via one brand have been placed at another brand within USG People. That would not have happened in the situation before.
Ton Sluiter, Marketing Manager USG People: ‘Sharing the data between subsidiary companies is a true revolution. However people were a bit frightened in the beginning to share their data, this fear appeared to be unfounded. The sharing of data made it possible for our recruiters to match candidates and vacancies better, faster and more efficiently.’
With this case USG People and Textkernel have been nominated for the Recruitment Tech Award 2016, in the category Best Case. You can vote until November 10th (Dutch website). The winner will be announced at the Recruitment Tech Event on November 24th.
