Product Development

2014 has been a productive year with lots of new initiatives, amongst others from our second innovation week. We’ve worked on our products improving the candidate experience, supporting active sourcing, providing insights with Big Data and labour market analyses. And last but not least, we’ve accomplished to truly match the supply and demand in the labour market and adapted our products to support the mobile recruiting process with semantic technology.

Truly matching supply and demand
We’ve introduced federated bi-directional matching – matching directly from a vacancy or profile to multiple candidate databases or (with Jobfeed) to and from all jobs in the market. With our matching technology and access to external profiles and jobs, we are able to truly match the supply and demand on the labour market.

Mobile recruiting
Textkernel presents semantic technology for mobile to overcome the challenges in mobile recruitment: capturing profiles and delivering relevant results.

Phone and tablet vector signTextkernel’s “Apply with” widget, integrated into (mobile) career sites, allows applicants to apply for a job with their CV or profile of choice, while employers still retain all information in the structure of their database. Textkernel’s semantic search and matching technology with a mobile interface enables recruiters and job seekers to efficiently match and search through profiles and jobs on any (mobile) device.

Textkernel empowers (mobile) recruiting and ensures that each recruitment process is ready for the future.

3D-plot-Deep-LearningDeep Learning research
This year we’ve started applying Deep Learning to our CV parsing in order to further improve the quality. Deep Learning is a set of algorithms used on large amounts of data to automatically learn how to represent information, such as learning the meaning of new words. It is the next big thing in language technology and is considered to be the future of Artificial Intelligence.

With Deep Learning we’ve improved our French and English models and next year we will release further improvements for amongst others our German CV parser.

With more products, projects and events, Textkernel also needed more manpower. In 2014, the Textkernel team has welcomed 13 new colleagues. We now have over 50 employees from 21 different countries, and still many job openings to fill. Textkernel is growing into a mature, international company, while retaining its flat structure and familiar atmosphere.
