Part-time positions amounted for roughly 29% of all online vacancies posted this year in the Netherlands. That’s about twice the percentage of part-time jobs offered in France (14.2%) and Germany (16,2%) according to figures provided by Jobfeed, the labour market analytics tool that comprehensively aggregates and analyses online job ads from thousands of sources in France, Germany and the Netherlands.
Part-time jobs per profession class The amount of part-time positions advertised varies greatly from one profession class to another. For instance healthcare and hospitality jobs tend to more often offer its positions part-time compared to engineering or production jobs. The graph below shows the percentage of jobs that is offered part-time within the main profession classes in Germany, France and the Netherlands.

Most part-time jobs in Healthcare
All three countries combined, Healthcare is the number one part-time employer. This profession class provides 17,5% of all part-time jobs in France and 15,3% in Germany. While more than 50 percent of health care jobs in the Netherlands were offered part time, that sector is not the largest part time employer in the country. Sales tops this with 14,1% of all part-time jobs posted online in 2014.
