Transitioning from proprietary platform to our Mid-Office Platform

Since 1994, Kolibrie HRM has been a payroll specialist for the hospitality industry. In 2018, they embarked on the development of their own process automation platform with the aim of alleviating concerns for both hospitality employees and entrepreneurs. However, after three busy years, they made the decision to discontinue their proprietary developments and transition to our platform. The objective was clear: to enhance service for customers and temporary employees while ensuring full compliance with all laws and regulations.

Customization challenges with proprietary platform

Initially, the development of their own Time Management portal and onboarding proceeded smoothly. However, they quickly encountered hurdles. Beyond time processing and onboarding, they encountered numerous unforeseen challenges. Certain aspects were not thoroughly considered initially. While creating an in-house solution was enjoyable, maintaining it proved to be a different story. Their collaborating party lacked knowledge of the staffing industry, which required extensive explanations and made sustaining the product both draining and costly.

Mid-Office: tailored for the entire staffing market

While working on their own platform, they monitored the progress of our mid-office platform. They noticed that our platform has evolved into a comprehensive mid-office solution that covers onboarding, time management, and automates various other processes like sick leave requests. They realized that the Mid-Office platform is designed for the entire staffing market and that our expertise and understanding contribute significant value.

The key to success

This realization led them to discontinue their proprietary platform. In 2021, they devised an IT landscape plan for Kolibrie HRM, laying the groundwork for a new, intensive partnership with us. It’s a genuine collaboration marked by mutual commitment.

Prioritizing relationships over administrative controls

The automation initiative aims to shift administrative burdens from employees to the system. “Our intention isn’t to eliminate jobs but rather to redirect focus towards nurturing relationships at the forefront, rather than repetitive tasks and controls in the background.”

If successful, this endeavor will ideally enable them to double sales with the existing workforce.
